In times of strong economic adjustments, as we are currently living in Western countries, it´s the time when is require more structural changes to optimize and transform obsolete paradigms. The Public Administration is not the exception.

In an unfavorable economic environment, governments are trying to find the way to optimize their existing resources relying on technology and tools in order to achieve what at first seems something impossible: doing more with less. In Public Administration would be to provide more services by lowering costs.

Talking about Public Administrations, the IT have played, play and will play an important role modernizing and transforming an industry, that historically has been reluctant to major changes, by developing a more flexible and fluid communication between the citizen and the administration.

The transformation and simplification of business processes and the allocation of the right tools to the new organization goes through mainstreaming processes, simplifying and standardizing similar solutions to common problems. The proposed simplification consists on reforming policies, procedures and all the stuff that take 90% of the time and work of Public Administration to apply the Information Technologies in order to make them more agile and efficient for themselves and -which is even more important- for the people. It´s also very important that simplification attends economic criteria from the point of view of the Administration and from the perspective of citizens, facilitating their relationship, the necessary procedures, deadlines and documentation they need to attach to the Administration. The simplification to transmit security and confidence to the citizen from the Public Administration is an important added value.

Finally, indicate that the improvement and transformation will be obtained from the rationalization and reorganization processes, with the new IT tools, will help to optimize resources and improve services for citizens
